This is What You Want

MIAMI, July 31, 2004.   As we enter our tenth season of exhibitions in the Miami area, Bettcher Gallery announces This is What You Want , a group exhibit which previews the artists selected to participate in our upcoming calendar of events through June 2005.  With the introduction and Miami debut of career fine artists working in new genre and new media, this exhibition should act as prelude to an invigorated curatorial approach which aims to produce a  more narrative if not theatric direction within our programing where each exhibition unfolds and exposes another layer to a story told throughout the course of ten months.

This is What You Want   and our 2004-2005 season of exhibitions explores a premise encompassed by the phenomenon of desire and seduction: exposing the acting out of various obsessions, processes and psychologies entailed in the fulfillment of and attraction to such forces at play around us.  

Artists include: Marc Dennis, Scott Cawood, Kara D'Angelo, Rod Appleton, Luis Sanchez, Jon Peters, Steve Daly, Robin Koenig, Kiel Johnson, Amanda Hanlon, Vanessa McKnight, John Bonick, Ray Beldner, Gretchen Hilmers, Steve Ochs, and Jean Blackburn.

This is What You Want   opens in conjunction with 55th Street Station's Last Saturdays in the Courtyard on Saturday, July 31 from 7PM through11PM and runs through September 20, 2004 .  Please contact gallery for additional information or visual material.

Bettcher Gallery is located in the center of the Fine Arts District of the Biscayne Corridor and within the heart of  Soyka's 55th Street Station's enclave of shops and restaurants at Biscayne Boulevard and 55 Street.   Gallery hours are Tuesday: 11:00-5:00 PM, Wednesday through Saturday 12:00-10:00 PM, or by appointment by calling (305)758-7556.
